What do you need?
Valid identity card
passport photo (biometric)
certificate of the vision test
You can get it from your optician or ophthalmologist
First aid course
You can do it at the DRK, for example
The faster you get these things, the faster the application can be submitted and processed by the municipality.
Since the driver's license office has to apply for a police clearance certificate and request information from the central traffic register, processing usually takes about 4-12 weeks! If there is then no reason not to issue the driver's license, an inspection order can be issued.
(Without a test order, no test – whether theoretical or practical – is possible!)
WHEN IS THE EARLIEST YOU CAN TAKE THE EXAM?
The theoretical test can be taken a maximum of 3 months before the 18th or 17th birthday, the practical test 1 month before.
